Do you feel like your life is going nowhere, whether because of your job, your relationship, or perhaps for no particular reason you can put your finger on? Feeling "stuck" is a common emotion that can stem from:
- Goals you'd like to achieve, but donít know how to
- Falling into a routine, and not knowing how to change it
- Relationships that are no longer fulfilling
If you're feeling like you're going nowhere and life is just passing you by, there's very good news. This means you are aware that you want some changes, and awareness is the first step to making it happen.
If you're fed up with spinning your wheels, and are ready for some action, here are the top steps to stop going nowhere and move forward instead.
1. Realize that feeling "stuck" is just a feeling - not a fact.
"When we feel stuck in our lives we often do not realize that feeling stuck is exactly that - just a feeling. When you treat it like a feeling, not a fact as most of us do, we can easily let it go with The Sedona Method," says Hale Dwoskin, CEO and Director of Training of Sedona Training Associates.
2. Let go of wanting to "stop feeling stuck."
Letting go of certain feelings is a simple process that we can all inherently do, just as easily as we can let go of a pencil. However, many of us have completely forgotten our inner ability to release. The Sedona Method is a tool to easily refresh your memory of how to let go.
"If you are feeling stuck, simply let go of wanting to change the feeling of 'stuckness,' and then allow yourself to get into action," Dwoskin says. "Even if you have felt stuck for a long time, this one thing can make all the difference in getting your life back on track."
3. Only engage in positive self-talk.
The more negative things you say (even if you only say them to yourself), the more negativity you are likely to bring on yourself. So, only allow yourself to say and think positive thoughts (instead of "my life is going nowhere," say "my life is fulfilling and exciting").
4. Add some fun to your life.
Nothing relieves a "stuck" routine better than a little fun. Call up your friends and go out for a night on the town, a weekend camping trip, or a relaxing day at the beach. Just do something, preferably something enjoyable that you haven't done for awhile.
5. Believe that your life will move forward.
The more you release on "feeling stuck," the easier this will become, however you should strive to believe that your life is moving forward immediately. After all, if you believe your life is going nowhere, it probably won't. Believe that your life is moving forward, and you will be amazed at the opportunities that begin to arise.
