    Hi Margreet,

    I have enjoyed reading of your 'releasing journey' and it's wonderful to hear of your perseverance with the process. As you're discovering, the more you practice the easier and more natural it becomes.

    This IS a 'do it yourself' method. Next weekend it will 40 years since I was intoduced to Lester and took the basic course…and what an amazing, wonderful 40 years it has been as a result of letting go. In those days there weren't any books written about it, cds or videos, etc.. You took a live course and began applying it yourself in your daily life. I have found it tremendously empowering from day one because it has enabled me to help myself without creating a dependency on anyone or anything. In a relatively short time I felt a greater confidence and wholeness within myself, as well as a deep trust in a higher power that points the way.

    Times have changed and there's so much supportive material available now…but the power of the Method remains in it's simplicity. It has also become more of a 'do it with others' method, supporting each other in releasing is wonderfully enriching for both partners. It's amazing how effortless and spontaneous releasing is simply by being there with and for others in their freedom. This is my interpretation of the Whole…the One in All.

    So, as you have already met Maarten Klatte, our SM Instructor in Holland, I suggest you stay in touch with him. He is planning to offer a peer-to-peer releasing retreat in the new year, possibly in January. I highly recommend it - it's the most powerful and effective way to make the method your own. You will attain a much deeper understanding and direct experience of all the tools, and be better able to intuitively facilitate yourself and others (without the need to follow a script or rely on recordings).

    • Yes Annrika, I sort of had that insight by myself too, that it probably doesnt need all that reading and all that listening to the audio's. That in fact it is as simple as breathing, to let go. Nevertheless I do enjoy the listening. And it calms me. It even already helps in taking less anxiety-medication (oxazepam). I took that twice a day, and now only occasionly (not even once a week!) About the releasing retreat: If I am able to attend one, I would choose the one in June with Hale.

      • That's wonderful Margreet, and so very encouraging for others in the community who have taught themselves thru the book or audio programs. Just continue to go at your own pace and follow your inner guide/teacher/intuition and you can't go wrong.

          Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with TSM.

          There is nothing wrong with listening to the recordings over and over again. You are right when you say that it "it is new and it probably has to sink in". Folks usually learn through repetition. And eventually you will find that you are using the processes in ways that are specifically useful for you. And this will keep evolving and meet all sorts of needs as you peel away all the things that distract you from your infinitude. The reason people often, and I do mean often become utterly fascinated with TSM is because it feels so wonderful to be able to process our thoughts, feelings, problems, issues and goals in a way that results in calm, joy, energy, creativity and courage. It feels so wonderful to get relief from all sorts of suffering. Don't be afraid to be play around with TSM as much as you like. There is no down side to releasing and it isn't possible to release too much.

            I am new here and want to share my amazing experience from releasing.

            Hope this is where to do that.

            I had been a coffee drinker and felt conflicted about drinking so much coffee. But I simply could not stop.
            I started releasing about drinking coffee.
            I tried different ways, such as:
            Advantages vs Disadvantages
            Releasing on the doubt that I could actually stop.
            Releasing on the sensations in the body linked to wanting coffee.

            I am happy to say that the habit dissolved!
            I have not had a coffee nor wanted one in over a month!

            I also have not had any sugar or pastries or dairy.

            This is amazing!

            I notice how happy I am.
            Not just because of the coffee, because I don't even think about that anymore.

            I simply notice the openness and happiness and lightness.....

            My body is not what I thought it was.
            I don't even experience a body really. I experience openness, unbound.

            My entire experience has totally transformed.

            So happy!
            I am happiness!

                                I'm Chris from Bonita Springs, Florida and just starting to read the book. Also just signed up for the Ultimate Freedom-Body course which I hope it is not too advanced for a beginner?
                                This looks like a lifetime thing. I like it so far.
