  • "outrageous"...

    Hi there,

I've come across the phrase "What is the simplest or most outrageous thing I can do right now to create more money" or "What is the most outrageous action step you could take to move forward with your project?".

Now, being non-native with English, "outrageous" in German is mostly translated to something "negative", e.g. shocking, dreadful, appalling, hideous, etc. I don't think that is intended.
    - Can someone give some examples in how this is truely meant, some comparisons for it?
    - As I only relate to simple, I feel I don't envision this phrase properly and fall short on using it.

Thanks for the help and best regards,
    Jochen.

    Hi,

Being non-native with English also, I use it like "most unlikely" or "hard to imagine" or "I cant believe I am even saying this" action
For example, outrageous steps regarding to money:
    - sell everything I own
    - go from one door to another and try to raise money
    - dress as a chicken and go to a town square and dance for money
    - make a web page that sells pixels for money (well, that one DID work for someone ).

So basically I use it as "out of the ordinary" action step.

    Hope it helps!

    Regards,

    S.
